Frequently asked questions
What is LoRaMapper?
A web tool to plan and verify LoRaWAN coverage inside and around buildings using real signal measurements.
Do I need special hardware?
You need a LoRaWAN gateway and a device to measure with. LoRaMapper runs entirely in your browser.
Can I import real device data?
Yes. Connect your network server and uplinks flow into the right site and point automatically.
How is it billed?
Per active site, per month, by invoice for CH/EU. Credit-card payment is coming soon.
How do I get an account?
Register on this site. An administrator reviews and approves your request, then you receive your login.
In which languages is it available?
English, German, French and Italian — switch anytime.
Which network servers are supported?
Any LNS that can POST uplinks to a webhook. Loriot and a generic format work today; TTN, ChirpStack and Actility are being added. Each site’s ingest URL is shown in the app.
What’s the difference between a building and an outdoor site?
A building site is based on uploaded floor plans (indoor, per storey); an outdoor site uses a real map with GPS measurements and terrain. You can run both.
Can I use my existing gateways?
Yes. Measure against gateways already installed on site, or carry a portable test gateway for planning — or both. Each measurement records which gateway received it.
Is my data private?
Your sites, measurements and floor plans are scoped to your organisation and hosted in the EU. See our privacy policy for details.
